I was skinning tomatoes earlier, and wondering...

You know how some tomatoes are just perfectly ripened all around, blemish free, and you slip the skin off and they're just perfect?

Then there are others that have kind of a splotchy area and when you skin them there are these weird bumpy white areas. What causes that? Sun scald? Stink bug bites?

Thanks Martin!

I had a hunch it was either sun scald or stink bugs. I have more of those white funky spots than usual this year, and I have more stink bugs than usual this year. AND what with the early blight, my tomatoes are getting more sun than usual this year.

Thanks again for sharing your wisdom and experience.
