I just received this in my email and wondering why anyone thought it was proper to try and hook readers by using the tragic accident involving Yvonne'sHubby's daughter.

I'm floored that anyone thought this was appropriate.

I agree completely if it was sent to non-members. I don't receive HT updates via e-mail, but I think some members do. Thankfully it doesn't seem to be posted to HT's Facebook page.

I hope it was removed as soon as it was noticed.

It should be easy to look at the stats and figure that out.

ETA: That thread does have the most views/replies on the front page in that section.

Why hasn't an Admin responded to this thread? At least to let us know the post was taken down or what the glitch was that it was posted in the first place.

It's hard to "take down" an E-mail:
If the process is automated, there was no "glitch".
It's still the most viewed and has the most replies of any thread on the page.

It's one of those things that happen when dealing with automated systems. I have long been aware that ANYTHING posted anywhere on the Internet is subject to the whims of the masses and may end up being widely circulated. I'm pretty certain there has been no malicious or purposeful intent by anyone connected with HT therefor it's a no harm no foul situation as far as I am concerned. Austin and I have discussed this and it's all good.

I'm glad it's worked out and even more so that your precious daughter is recovering, but it would still be nice that when sad or tragic things happen to members here and are shared, that they not be used for trying to pull members back or increasing readership. Human oversight would be nice as a stopgap so sadnesses can't be exploited for corporate gain.

Facebook posts can be taken down. And I imagine it was, but still... when there is a concern raised it would be nice for someone in Admin to respond.
Yvonne -- I'm glad you were contacted and the issue resolved.
