I have a friend who lives in the third world doing humanitarian work. She tries to give her kids as many of the american traditions as she can. In her email today, she said, "Gotta go cook for thanksgiving. Right now there are two NERVOUS looking turkeys out in a pen in my yard who need, um... attention!"

L! Once a homesteader, always a homesteader, I guess. How many of you had to give your turkeys "attention" today before you eat them tomorrow, or did you process yours earlier?

We gave the Broads Breasted birds as much attention as they could stand about a month ago ;) The plans were to take the heritage birds to a, er, party over the weekend, but that didn't pan out, so they have a reprieve for a couple of weeks.
