Mitch just got a phone call from the landlady. He was instructed that we would now be in charge of feeding the animals! He was told to go to one of the dental offices and pick up a credit card. He just pulled out of the driveway. :bouncy:

I'm sure she could tell from our timecards that at least one of us had been going to the airstrip everyday, 7 days a week, until they told us Kelly would feed. After we were told she would feed, neither one of us has been there, except to pick up timecards. That showed on the most recent timecards.

I told Mitch I didn't want to go to the airstrip until there was food because hearing the animals crying and squealing for food would break my heart. All of them respond very strongly to the sound of our vehicles because of the association with being fed.

He's going to pick up a great big jug of wesson oil too. We're going to have to be careful because of the risk of colic or sickness in any of the animals. I just hope we get to keep the card or they at least let us have it when supplies get low. If we have to give the card back we'll start hounding them a couple weeks before the feed runs out again.

The critters will eat good tonight, not as much as they're used to, but they will get fed. :hobbyhors

Glad to hear, the animals will get fed and that you both did not have any drastic changes to make.

in a book log all feed in to stores and then log feed as fed. they will then know what feed is needed and how long it lasts! sounds like they have not a clue!

Can you get a tube of probiotics too? It would help alot if they've been stressed.

Happy endings make my day

    mpillow,

That would work only if it can be put on the food. The mustang, goats and calves aren't used to being handled.

    Rose,

When we took the job it was agreed we pay for gas except for being reimbursed to go to the dental office an hour an a half away. We do his shopping for the animals when we do our banking and shopping. We don't mind because with no utility bills it works out.

I'll call the feedstore to let them know Mitch is headed that way and have him pick up some of that too. Thanks!

mpillow, called the feed store. The probiotics, powdered, are sitting on the counter waiting to be added to the supplies. Thanks again. :)

I was also concerned about you and moopups because if someone had turned the animals in you and he would have been blamed.

    Merry Christmas

I am so glad! I was praying for a good resolution to this situation, for the animals and (mostly) for you. You've only just gotten there, it would be a horrible shame to have to move yet again!

You have a very Merry Christmas, with those wonderful, well-fed animals. :)
