We'll, I'm still alive. Got the flu shot yesterday and feel fine.
Came home and worked burning brush piles, normal
Other homestead duties, rested reading, fell asleep and
got up not even having muscle pain at the needle site.
Oh, the bandage I forgot. Peeled it off. No reaction, nothing.
Nurse said it might bleed a bit because I had on tee shirt was
tight rolled up above where she shot me. The lineup at
the flu clinic was huge. Had to wait 1/2 hour. Talked with a
few recipients hanging around, mostly elderly get every year.
I was also surprised a guy telling me he got a shingles vaccine
Yesterday and a pneumonia shot every 10 years.
I only get the flu shot every year now for about 15 years with
good influenzae prevention. I see so many people at work
get the flu suffer like crazy and refuse the protection.
Not me.

I got my first flu shot about 3 wks ago. Then last week, had the flu for about 3 days. I know the shot won't cover all types of flu. Didn't matter, I was still disappointed. I feel when I'm sick like that, it's just a waste of my life. My health is very good. I'm just not used to being sick.

That fella that had the shingles vaccine should not have received his flu shot the next day. You have to wait 4 weeks. The shingles vac is a live virus vaccine.

p.s. I helped at three flu clinics the last two days (yeah overtime!) but I still haven't received one yet. LOL

This was the first day for clinics in this region.
I know what you mean about the guy should wait with
the shingle vaccine. In fact, I asked him if he did get a reaction
how could he sort out which vaccine might cause it?
I'm not folly enough to believe that no one ever gets a reaction.
and those who do know it.
That guy was behind me in line for flu shot.
Hopefully the nurses might exclude home for the time until
all is clear from the shingles shot.

I am on the fence about the shingles shot. Can't decide if I should get it or not. Shingles isn't something I want to go through.

It's possible. One could get influenzae for about two weeks
after a flu shot if exposed to the virus. Don't worry I won't go
rubbing my eye after telling the librarian who has a cold,
Touched my cell phone showing pictures. She quickly sanitized.
Lol. I'll probably catch a cold at some point this winter. I'm just
in close contact with too many people and customers at work to
avoid it.

As for shingles vaccine, I'll pass . There is no compelling
reason for me to get that. I am , however pretty close to
being due for a tetanus shot.

I did go this year in Feb and get the whooping cough vaccine as there was an outbreak of it in the areas and since I work in the ER area I didn't want to chance it. The tetnaus vaccine is part of that shot.
