The beetles are gone!

    The Japanese beetles were terrible here this year. I noticed today that they seem to be gone. I wonder where they went.

    LOL Bare, you are so cruel, but it's true. Shouldn't be any more plant damage from them now until the grubs start attacking your lawn. It was a bad year for them here too, I'm just glad they left us a couple of blackberries and a bunch of grapes.

    The Japanese beetles weren't too bad here in Illinois this summer. Not as bad as last year. Spent less money on beetle traps. Hate having those things come in with the laundry from the clothes line. I have read somewhere that the Japanese Beetle has no natural enemy here in the States. Can't we import it's natural enemy? Wonder what ramifications it would have? It would take nature a long time to adjust..............
