If you do not believe in God, then you might not want to read this, but I have to thank God for his many blessings. Has God ever Blessed you?? I feel he blesses me all the time. About two years ago, I had been dumped by a Girlfriend that I had, had a long-term relationship with. I got very depressed. I was out in the 1 acre garden she left me with trying to collect a few vegetables--I have always been religious, but not a Saint. I fell to my knee's and ask God to send me a Good woman, that would like this and that, that would like living the simplier life(No city girl), that would like a garden, that would want to build a Cabin by the lake here--ETC, ETC, ETC. Well to make a LOOOOOOOOG story short--She Showed Up. LOVES my Place-----------She was Everything I had prayed for--Everything!!!! We been together for 2 years now, we have the Same desires and dreams---We talked about buying a sawmill to cut the lumber to build us a cabin from the tree's on my farm--Well I started looking for a sawmill--one showed up in the local paper(hadn't seen one in the local paper before or since)---went and looked at it and bought it--------Well starting cutting a few logs and realized that I didn't have enough pine (Lots of hard-wood)on my farm to cut my lumber for the cabin---Well I seen a pine tree in a neighbors yard that he had taken down--stopped and asked and he gave it to me-- about a mile from me I seen a pine tree that the storm had blown over and I new this man that owned it---went to his work and asked him about it-----God kicked in here again-----------He said sure you can have it and he said he wanted the other 6 big pines taken down on that lot---(No houses) Told me to bring the mill right there and saw them---Mercy I was Happy--I was finishing up on sawing up the last log on saturday evening and all of a sudden a tractor pulled up with a nice log hooked behind it---He ask if I wanted a few more logs---I said YES--He pulled up 7 more nice logs then said If I wanted some more--next week he would cut me down some that were close to his and his neighbor's house---He called me the next week--had 17 more fair size pine tree's on the dirt for free---Thank God--I had just got my log hauling trailer so I hauled them to my place and sawed them----Well about the time I got all of them sawed the power company had cut a new right away about 2 miles from me and had some Nice pine tree's down--I called the land owner--He gave them to me--40 nice Logs ----Mercy--Got about All my framing lumber cut and only cut a few of my tree's in the beginning--Thank God Again!! Well My G-friend and I decided for sure we were going 100% solar on our Cabin--So I started watching E-bay for a Deal on some solar panels--I wanted to find 4 more 80 watt or larger to add to the ones I have----A friend knew I was on the watch for some solar panels---He called and said there was a add in the local paper for some solar panels--It was hard to believe there was a add in the local paper------------no one here is into solar---figured the man probably had one of them solar battery charger or something---But I called---God Done it again---This man had bought a house to resell that had ALOT of solar panels on the roof and the singles had to be redone so all the solar was removed and he had them for sale---17 New looking solar panels----10 were larger than 80 watts(8-100 watt--2 --120 watt----and he had Large inverters, batteries--LOTS of SOLAR STUFF--I knew I couldn't afford it all and he wouldn't break it up---I told him I couldn't afford them ---he said I didn't need cash, wanted to know if I had anything to trade--Well to make a long story short--I had a 97 2 wheel drive 4 wheeler I was thinking about selling because I hardly ever used it---He took it--Even Swap-------I couldn't believe this----God done it again!!! I figured up all the larger Solar things I got----------------------OVER $13,000 worth of solar things(Not figuring small things) for a App $2000 4 wheeler---------This is Unreal------well yesterday evening my G-friend and I decided to go to Lowes or Home Depot and see if we could find some wood window's so they would go with our Sawmilled Cabin---We were thinking about getting them to order us some of the Old timie 6 pane window's(If they still could get them) and we could build the cases/frames for them--we are planning to build All the doors anyhow-------Well about 1/2 way to Lowes--right in town----stacked on the edge of the sidewalk for the trash to pickup was some windows(Hey I am a Red-Neck--LOL)---turned around pulled up beside them------was some of the 2 pane wooden window's---in GOOD Shape------48 of them ----Yes I said 48---thats 24 double hung windows--- we only need 10 windows/20 pieces. A apartment building had remodeled and replaced all the window's--- Thank God AGAIN. Just Had to give God some Praise For His Many Blessings!!!! Let me hear some of your Blessings!!!Randy

Enjoyed reading your blessings. If I started writing all the blessings we have received it would take all evening. He really takes care of us doesn't he?

It really increases our faith to hear of His goodness. God has supplied my needs for many years now. At times I forget how much He does for us and I take time to count and realize how blessed we are.
I have prayed for shoes for my children and have actually had a person come to my door with a box of shoes. I have prayed for food for my family and watched as someone delivered our meal. One of the most recent things He did for me was heal me of a pain so bad in my back that I couldn't stand or walk. When it comes to dollars and cents it was a great savings from the greatest physician.
Free and clear no attachments just faith and committment to Him.

My wife and three children (5, 3, and 7 months) went into the backcountry at about 8 am for a picnic and by 1 am, had not returned. I was extremely worried, especially with all the bad news these days.

The sheriff's department went looking and found them all safe and sound with a dead battery.

I have been exceedingly blessed way beyond what I deserve, but this blessing is definitely top of the list right now.

Thank you for sharing that wonderful testimony of God's goodness and providence!

I'm getting packed to move, scheduled to head out tomorrow. Tell you all about it when I get there. But I just want to say, how good God is!

Our blessings likewise are too numerous to mention--too unusual to have been anything but heavensent.

Be in the word, be faithful in prayer and you will be blanketed in love.

There have been so many stories I've read on this site--many miracles--atributed to belief in God, sincere prayer.

My advice to you as you marry is to pray together (holding hands if need be) when you have issues that are very divisive (and they will come, trust me) because it is almost impossible to be angry enough to say things you will regret if you have been praying and holding hands. God bless you.

Beautiful post! We, too, have been blessed above and beyond by God's goodness. He has been SO generous to us throughout the years. I feel so sad for those who don't know Him. I pray continued blessings for you and yours!

    In His Love,

I would Love for you to see our place when we get closer to getting it finished. We are just collecting what we need at this time to put it all together when that time comes. Only got the land pretty much ready to start digging a foundation, G-friend has several tree's(pecan's, apple's, pear, peach's etc) and alot of flowers planted, got most all of the material cut and drying to Dry the cabin in---Got the 17 solar panels in a storage building--using 4 panels at this time to run the camper I have set-up, that I live in(She lives about 1/2 hr away). So I already have the water well down, Got the windows now-- :haha: -- Going to use a lot of glass on the front of the cabin--facing the lake---got all the glass(taking the glass out of sliding glass doors--FREE AGAIN--have about 30 sheets app. 34"x76" only need 10 sheets--Hey I like Free stuff--LOL)--In the next week or two I will be getting my small wood-working shop (on-grid) set back up(its a packed-up storage building right now) to start building the doors and window frames, etc on the rainy days. My 16yr son and I , with my G-friend and her 2 kids help(when they can) will be doing most all the building. Hope to get it dryed in through the summer. See I work part-time, G-friend full-time, we don't want any dept on the cabin when finished---Praying---So I am not sure how long it will take to finish it--Hopefully in a year or so. My G-friend promiced her daughter she wouldn't move again till after she grauduated from High school(this was before she met me--LOL), but she is keeping her promice(she lives in another town)---this coming school year will be her senior year--So It should all work-out. My G-friend wants us to spend our Honeymoon night in our new cabin---Hey I better get off of here and get to work---LOL----Randy

Thanks to everyone else for your nice compliments!!!

Am Blessed All The Time, But Yesteday Really Needed The Encouragemnt Of One. Dil And Ds Are Moving To Another State. She Told Me Yesterday That She Planned To Take A Bedroom Set Of Her Dd That I Have Been Using For Two Years. It Was The Child's Great-grandmother's On The Other Side, It Is Beautiful, Pale Yellow, That Matches The Bedstead Someone Else Had Given Me. I Quickly Prayed For Replacement Furn. Wondering What Would I Do. Hate Shopping, Had To Spend $$$. Since Ds Will Have To Spend A Month With Me After Dil Leaves, To Give Notice On His Job- I Really Need Some Furniture For That Room. So I Called Up His Dad And Asked If Their Newly Combined Household Had Any Furn. I Could Have/use. He Called Me Back With A Triple/dresser/mirror And A Nightstand. I Asked -what Style? He Said Victorian, And A Murky Yellow Color. Kid That Works For Me Partime Called Me About 4-30 P.m. And It Was Work Then Or Wait A Week. So He Came & We Picked Up The Furn. In The Next Town.

It Was Nicer Than What I Have, Very Nice Color, The End Table I Will Use In My Present Bedroom. Will Set Up A Nice Round Table With Skirt For Bedside Table For The "yellow" Bedroom. Kid Set It Up In My Empty-junk Bedroom And I Immediately Filled It With Linens, Laundery, Etc. I Am Short Due I Sent My Good Stuff Over To Our Rental House For Hurricane Refugees Last Year. Just Sat. Re-rented The House, Otherwise Could Have Retrieved That Furn.

Such A Quick Answer To Prayer And With The Help And Matching, I Am Blessed.

Yesterday I needed a mood-lifter and asked Him to nudge me soon. Lo and behold there appeared a double rainbow! Makes the past week of solid rain worthwhile! Sometimes it is the little things that keep us in tune.

Interesting perspective...Just a few years ago I felt like nothing ever went right. My husband and I had been trying to find some land for some time (that was affordable, but what we wanted) to no avail. No joke--I had "Land, land, land!" as the greeting on my phone to remind me everyday what we were working for. Everyday I would turn on my phone and get discouraged about what we DIDN't have.

Then one day it hit me. I was not at all being grateful for what I was being given...a loving husband, a job, enough money for food and clothes, health, family, friends...things many people only wish they could have. It was like a revelation. I quickly went to my phone and changed my greeting, "Be content in what U R given". Then each day I turned it on, I didn't think about what we didn't have, I prayed and thanked God for what He had given us. I promise you it was not long AT ALL! (a few months) and things changed VERY quickly...better jobs and finances, better health, a closer relationship between me and my DH, 12 beautiful acres and thanks to a specialist that seems to be a Godsend, we may now have the opportunity to have children someday. The blessings keep coming and I am not even asking.

I am loving this thread - just before I read it, I was thinking that I really like this board.

Well I tell you, God is good.

I have two beautiful, healthy children, a loving husband, my health, and I live in the greatest country in the world!

    I am BLESSED!

:) Hmmmmm. When things go right it's that invisible man up in the sky that did it? When they go wrong, who's fault is that?

I like to depend on people, mostly family, friends and myself. I think I make my own luck, or progress or things that I accomplish....

I think we all need to take responsibilty for ourselves, our actions and our lives.

Not on some critter "up there" who must play golf a lot everytime there is some disaster.Where DOES "he" go then?

I sorta look at this like I do these so called psychics. It's a crutch. I am not knocking religion, we need it as a species. We don't have many things to help with population control, religion helps a lot with that. Microbes are a bit more efficient but everything helps.

I love my life, I love the Earth and I love living. But I don't rely on something "out there" to make me appreciate it.I am in awe of the Earth and the ecology that makes it tick..but there is a whole universe out there just waiting to be explored.I wonder what that "guy" up there says about that? maybe we need a religious forum now. LOL

    Well said, LQ.

I won't argue the existence of a higher being with you, Fire-Man, because I heard true joy in your posting and I am genuinely happy for your good fortune.

Remember, though, that much of it wouldn't have happened without kindness on the part of all those people. Give them credit, too!

    GOD IS GOOD!!! ;)

I wouldn't trade my man upstairs for anything or anyone.

Can't worry about the bad things when there are so many good things to watch for. :)

I guess it would be difficult for some people to understand God. :waa:

My life has it's horror stories but it's the small things...like a heart shaped rock, a beautiful sunset, a hug from a small child and a gorgeous toothy smile that makes me happy. Whether I thank God or the owner of the property it sits on is really irrelavent. I'm sure Fire-man thanked both. :haha:

No matter how people make me feel or what stupid things I may do or say, I know that I belong to someone that loves me unconditionally...Unconditionally. :D

An agnostic and atheist board would be nice also, so good posts aren't interrupted by skeptics, who have as a much right to their thoughts and feelings as others who aren't skeptic.

Thanks so much to Fire Man and all who shared their praises!

One thing for which I am particularly grateful this growing season: I give thanks every time I bend over to pull a weed or plant a seed - my back is SO much better since last year, and I praise God for the surgeons and others He put in my life to effect this healing!

There are so many things for which to give thanks, and we should always be mindful that EVERY GOOD AND GRACIOUS GIFT IS FROM ABOVE!!

I don't mean to move away from the main topic but I feel your comment needs to be addressed, Siryet.

With respect, LQ's opinion is not an interruption...it's simply an opinion you don't agree with. Banishing a group of people with a different perspective to a separate board doesn't help anyone grow.

Besides, there would be nothing to discuss in an atheist board...just homesteading, families and the kindness of people who have helped us, so we'd all end up back in the GH forum anyway :)
