    Hi nwbound
not much has happened on the house lately... I took on a three day job (remember Gilligans Island... a three hour cruise?) wiring one of the neighbors boat house, that turned into a six week cash cow (so funny, the owner was always asking if I minded changing something... I'm working by the hour, no problem). It's been too wet to lay stone. I dig footers, it rains, they fill with mud.

And added to the wetness factor, one of the ladies from HT is moving out here. She's taking care of most of 'excess time'. When I (we) get something actually done on the home, will start posting again.

On the sunsets blog, amazingly enough, the sunsets have been subpar for the last three or four months...

Well its great that someone is moving out there. I asked because i live in north central Texas and were planning on building a house also. I do it for others so might as well do it for my family. I think i might follow your idea and set my own stone. My wife loves your sunset blogs.

I find these words to be highly suggestive! Everyone could use a little more wetness factored in, I think.

Been wondering about this. Maybe this is the girl who came down over labor day? Whoever it is, good luck Phil, and keep us updated.

Steve, sorry, my 'double-intendre' was unintentional. Work, weather, hunting season, and a love interest is probably how I should have stated my slackness in updating the blogs.

nwbound... where are ya'll at? If you're involved in the trades, you know the exorbitant rates specialists charge. There's no way I could afford a mason. I like the concept of sweat equity. I figure I can build a fine home that'll last several hundred years, for about 5% of what it'll be worth.

ZWG... she's a little on the shy side...will have to ask her, and see if it's ok...

sorry it took so long to reply. Yes i know what people around here charge and sometimes i can't belive that someone would rather pay that then at least make an attempt to do it. I've been luckey enough to learn almost everything i'd ever need to know about building a house (excluding plumbing). And one beautiful day i will start on ours.

Texican could you post a link to your blog? I love reading blogs that tell about building homes or homesteads.
