Have never used fresh rose hips. Have an abundance of them on our old fashion, wonderful fragrance roses this year. Tell me when you harvest and preserve them and why you use them...!!!

I know rose hips are high in vitamin c. I have lots of bushes here and every year have intentions of picking them and steeping them in water to make a tea. But it seems I never get that far. :)

I know if after steeping you eat the hips themselves they can be helpful with constipation. Otherwise just drink the tea for the benefits of the vitamin C.

Yep vitamin C, I read some where rose hips have 100 times more vitamin C than the same weight in oranges. So a pound of hips has 100 times the vitamin C than a pound of oranges. The book was talking about wild ones but tame ones should be close to the same.
