Angora Rabbit buck has literally broken off his bottom teeth by chomping at the cage wires.

    Anyone have suggestions

Hi, does he have alot of toys? I give mine cardbaord toilet paper rolls and they have parrot toys hanging from the cage. I keep my doe busy by stuffing hay in a toilet paper tube. She also likes to roll an empty soup can around. I notice my buck chews his cage when I'm cleaning and I move his cage near my doe.

Thanks, Robin. He does have lots of toys (but doesn't show much interest, actually) and he comes out daily to goof off but I think you hit the cause right on when you mentioned being near the doe.
Once you said that, I realized he never had this behavior until I brought a doe home. I'll have to pay closer attention and see if he does it more when he can see or when he can't see her.

One of my bucks broke off one of his teeth like that and it grew back! I try to give my limbs off my (organic) fruit trees to chew on as well.

How long did it take? Did he have trouble eating while it was broken?
