I was watching the livestock auction on RFDTV and they had 100 head of weaned heifers/steers at 400lbs going for $135. Is that per head or per 100cwt? Thanks for answering my dumb quesiton :)

Normally the prices shown are per 100 pounds at auctions. Sometimes the auctioneer will switch between price per 100 pound and per animal, you have to pay attention.

I have seen some, mostly animals meant for use in breeding vs headed for the feedyard/slaughter house, sold with the total price being what is stated at the auction, these are mostly good quality bred cows, nice bulls, etc.
