I had a little pygmy goat that looked for the world like she was pregnant. I mean she had VERY large protruding sides each direction. Now today, totally flat and thin, but I have found no babies. They have a good sized pasture to be in. Would she have hid any baby? Hubby thought she might. This is our first goat "experience", so I don't know what to think. Any ideas?

If she had you would see some bloody discharge, she would have a udder, she would be looking for her baby (if the baby was missing). How long has she looked like this?

Does she have a udder? Has she been exposed to anyboys about 5 months ago?

She does have an udder. She has been exposed to boys about 5 months ago, but I don't see any bloody discharge, and she isn't looking around for the babies. In fact, she is perfectly calm. I was wondering if maybe it is just one baby (we thought maybe twins), and it has turned and is getting ready to be born????? or is that just too dumb even for a newbie?

I bet she is getting ready. Does will have their babys "drop" when they are getting ready to be born (like within a few hours sometimes). My guess is that she will have them by tonight :) .

If I was you I would get her in a clean stall area so you can keep a eye on her. I had this happen to a doe once. She looked pregnent then all the sudden one day her belly was gone  . Scared the crud out of me then I relized that the babys drop. But I was a little freaked out.

Here is a wonderful site with kidding info along with pictures ect(it is for standard does not pygmys but everything is the same)

Yippee...babies on the way! If she is bagged and no mess behind..I bet the little peepers are just getting turned and heading towards the chute.

Get your trusty flashlight out and make sure the batteries work! If you are a worry wart like me..you will be checking in on momma tonight.

Ya know I wish you well. Mostly I hope you enjoy every minute of this new experience.

Be well...and don't forget to let us know how everything turns out!

Well, no baby yet, and her sides are sticking out again. So... baby must have just been relaxing a bit yesterday, or maybe starting to begin to start, huh? LOL! We'll just wait and see. Hope it is soon. Don't want them too far into the fall with new babies.
