I keep having the same problem with container gardening. For example my spinach came up to about 1 1/2 inches and stopped doing any thing . I have watered almost every day to keep the soil moist and used miracle grow. It is on the deck with 6-7 hours of sunlight. The potting soil was fresh. It is in a 2ft row container. Ideas?

Jodi, it sounds like it has gone dormant with too much heat. Can you move it out of the sun and keep it in a cool bright place. Maybe on the North side of the house or under a shade tree? If that doesn't work, try waiting until cooler weather and grow it for late fall, early winter.
