My spinach has not produced much (nor been up long) and it is tall and leggy with what appears to be seeds at the top. Is this normal? does it mean the season is done?

    Thanks!

Spinach likes cool weather and will "bolt" or go to seed quickly when it is hot. We usually make two plantings here, one in early spring and then another in August for a fall crop. Once the plants have gone to seed you might has well pull them up and throw them in the compost bin.
