I paid something like $7 each for big plastic barrels that were used to ship Mountain Dew syrup. I bought them at this big sales place on the west side of Highway 69. That runs north and south between Big Cabin and Pryor. It was just south of Adair. Last I saw they had a bunch of them. I used them to make goat feeders.

  7. Check with the maintenance departments from colleges, high schools, or hospitals. Anywhere where they use water softeners for boiler systems, launderings, etc.

there's a car wash i go past fairly often that buys their detergents in 55 gallon plastic barrels. they set them out by the dumpster. i set them under the overflow for the raingutter cistern, and leave them there a month or so to get a good rinsing.

I understand that the bakeries around here (Springfield) sell the food grade ones for $4.

Nestle Purina will give away the non food grade ones.. They're in the industrial complex near 44 & 65 (from branson take kearney exit and go east.. Can't miss it. its about 2 miles)
