I just posted a similar scam regarding horses in the equine section. They send you a bogus money order/cashiers check but you don't find this out until after you've wired them cash. Then they have the cash and you're left with a worthless check/money order and no recourse. I posted an add online for my horses for sale and I was inundated with these emails.

It's definitely a scam. Like Dona said, the money order or cashier's check that they send you is worthless.

My sil works at a bank and they had a customer who sold something on ebay and she fell for it. She had already wired the money before she found out that the cashier's check was bogus. Now she's out $3,000.

Don't buy into it. It's a scam. I actually got an individual to SEND me a cashier's check. Even when it was obvious I was messin' with him. I turned the check over to the police. The e-mailer threatened to come and beat me up if I didn't return the check. I told "him" that he could pick it up at the police station OR could call THEM to retrieve it. It's a nasty scam. DO NOT DO IT.

I appreciate everyone's input. I've responded that I only work with cash. They didn't respond back. I'm amazed someone would be so bold to do a scam like that but I guess I give people way too much credit for being honest. Thanks for all your responses.

This is one of the classic scams. Report it to the ISP (getting it from the email headers), FBI and their local police if you can.
