I have a NZW buck that I got last March. I am not going to swear exactly how old he is but I am guessing he is around around two years old. He was a great breeder last year, very active, and gave me a lot of good kits. This year however, very few of my does will breed to this guy. I have ended up breeding them to another buck because they just wouldn't give it up for the other one. He doesn't seem that interested either. He usually just sits there and won't even chase the doe. I have had a couple of litters sired by him this year but I think that was mainly because when I put the doe in his cage she immediately stood still and raised her tail (the few that would actually breed to him that is). Is my guy just old or is there something wrong with him? Anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Check him for wet tail, or a UTI. That may have something to do with it.

Is he shedding? Sometimes they do that when they are shedding. 2 is not old. :)
