I have a several pole bean plants coming up around my trellis. They are about two inches tall with nice big leaves. Today I noticed the leaves looked like something has been nibbling on them. Not a rabbit, smaller bites. Could someone advice me on what likes to eat bean plants and what I can put on them to stop it?

    Thanks, Jodi

The same thing happens to me. I always wondered if it's birds. I usually find it works to put a floating row cover over until the beans are a bit taller and not so tender, and then they get left alone to grow.

I had the same problem last year, dont know if it was rabbits or groundhogs.I got some fox urine and sprayed around the bean patch,it worked my beans grew out and I had a fairly good crop.It might be worth a try,I will be using it again this year, will not wait till the beans come up to spray.Mary
