Hello everyone my name is Leilani I show in FFA and 4h and my dad breeds cattle and many other livestock aswell as horses and in this thread I’ll be posting about most of the stuff that happens on the farm even if it’s good or bad! We’ve had the best of calving this year most of the calves have been heifers we’ve had about 17 bull calves and 23 heifer calves also out donkey had gave birth to a little girl about 4 months ago her baby’s name is milkdud and she will be going to auction very soon and hopefully will become a momma or a herd protector at her new home she will be missed
Our white momma crystal that’s not her baby in the photo but she was getting that calf to nurse on her becuase her utters were to big she had lots her baby so my little brown cows baby was helping her out.(the brown calf is a heifer)some of the gals we haven’t seen all the cows for a while just a couple and we love the gals and we are thankful that they produce us and feed us we do not slaughter the heifers we don’t like we keep them for a little while and let them mature more until they sell so if they start looking more mature and we like then we will keep them and sell heifers and bull calves we don’t like!
Somea beautiful country photo I tookanother beautiful photo of the sky i the country!out polled longhorn cow that had a polled longhorn bull calf I have a photo in here when he was younger ( a little secret we wanted it to be a girl we were so mad it wasn’t he’s a beautiful calf!)heres buttercup the baby donkey I’ll put a photo of her when she was born aswell when I post more updatesand me sorry about the face I was just sad to say goodbye to my 2020-2021 goat Clyde (edit: I didn’t know my dad was gonna let me keep him I was super happy when I found out I walked out with him happy as ever and he’s such a smart and cool goat and I just couldn’t imagine him getting hurt and abused in those slaughter houses that’s why we slaughter our cows at home we shoot them with a silent gun when they are in pasture but the calves do go to sell barns if they don’t get bought I get they do go to slaughter house most of the time. But out super old cows we just kill em with a gun as they graze in the pasture so they can go out where they were born.and out male spotted booty donkey he’s the sweetest thing on the planethe lets you go under him , pick up his feet , sit on him if your not to heavy mostly kids under 3 can sit on him cause there not as heavy as us. His name is Johnny boy or as I call him big boy haha you’ll hear me in the morning saying “ comeer big boy I got your food”and here’s our Hereford cows who have always gave us great calves !
