I'm just reminding everyone, if you don't have smoke detectors, it's a good idea to get them. A house near us burned a couple of nights ago. The family awoke at 2:30 a.m. with the smoke detector sounding and they barely escaped in time. All I know at this time is that it started in a front room.

Mine wouldn't shut up. They'd go off for no reason whatsoever. Just in the middle of the night they'd just go off. No smoke, no cooking they'd just go off for the heck of it and then shut off again a few minutes later.

A couple of months ago they went off but wouldn't shut off. Went on for over and hour. I finally had enough and grabbed a section of pipe and calmly walked to each one and smashed it to bits.

I'll eventually get new ones (they're the hardwired type) but they'd better not go off for no reason or I'll smash them too.

I know one of mine are working because this morning, right out of the blue, it went off while walking by it. It even startled me!

LOL... I know I'm hot, but really!
