How small do tomato hornworms get? I've found very tiny, perhaps 3-5mm, caterpillars on two of my tomato plants. They look maybe sorta like a hormworm, though not exactly, and they're so small. All the sites I've found online list them as being quite large.

And will DE kill the things or is there another option?

I don't know how small they start ... but they get HUGE! They decimated my tomatoes last year. But ... DE does work on them.

Last summer I found teeny tiny ones and GREAT BIG ONES on my tomatoes. Picked the darn things twice a day all summer (the chickens were quite grateful, as were the tomatoes. My back wasn't so grateful). They start out so small you can barely see them and grow big really fast!
