Good evening to all- Went to the garden this morning as soon as the dew dried. I picked a mess of collards and I picked a small mess of green beans from the late pole beans.
I cooked both up- in separate kettles. The house smelled so good all day long.
About thirty minutes before supper, I slid a skillet of cornbread into the 400 degree oven, and when the cornbread was golden brown, I called supper.
It was all better than I hoped, and I had high hopes. I do love me some home-grown, home-cooked vittles- and it's hard to find anything more home-grown than green beans, collards and cornbread.
Doesn't take much to make some people happy.
good day to all- Ed Mashburn
