My doe is due to kid any day now. She is penned up at night with her companion whether. Now the whether can be pretty violent at times with his butting. Should I separate them for kidding from today on?

I don't want to cause either of them lots of stress....anyone else deal with whethers and kidding?

If the doe can handle being by herself, I would do it, especially if they are in pretty confined pasture. The wether sounds like the jealous type to me, and those have been known to actually kill kids, or to severely encumber the birthing process by not leaving the doe alone, so she cannot clean and accept the kid.

If possible put them in spots with a common fence, so they can see each other but he can't be a menace. An ounce of prevention, etc....
