I use the free version of Google earth and sometimes I use Terraserver but the quality of the pics are crude to say the best. Is there anything on the web that will give a good detailed pic and not costs excessively?

Your local USDA or Extension office probably has some excellent aerial photos of your property. I got a copy of mine which a few years old but quite detailed. They had even had an overlay of property lines referenced from local deeds and such and had all of the farmed fields marked with acres, types of soils and land conservation classifications and various crop stats. Interesting stuff.

The stuff on terraserver is good enough to see vehicles as small as a four wheeler on my property. I could even make out my trash barrel.
