Yeah, it's a little early to be singing carols, but you know I have had my Christmas list made out for quite some time...

    "Santa Baby"

Santa baby, slip a new goat under the tree, For me.

I've been an awful good girl,
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, a set of hoof nippers too, Light blue.

I'll wait up for you dear,
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the hay that I will need,
Alfalfa, oats and black oil sunflower seed,
Next year I could be oh, so good,
If you'd bring me some goats to breed,
    Boo doo bee doo.

Santa honey, I wanna big herd,
    And really that's not absurd,
I've been an angel all year,
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa cutie, there's one thing on which I’m stuck, a buck.
A sire for my new herd,
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, fill my stocking with a doe, And Oh!
Please could she be bred to Pistolero,
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Christmas tree,
With some tools bought at TSC,
I really do believe in you,
Let's see if you believe in me,
    Boo doo bee doo.

Santa baby, forgot to mention one thing more, A Boer.
    (I don't mean a dull guy),
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight,
    Hurry down the chimney tonight,
    Hurry down the chimney tonight

Since my big buck broke out his pen and went to visit the girls on August 1st, I don't have to ask Santa for new goaties. I've got at least six visably pregnant does (and probably a few more being sneaky) all due near the end of December and the first of the year.

Anyone interested in kids, let me know, I'll have a few ready in about another month...

I doctored (goated?) up the song and sent it to my husband-- he said we have too many goats, and we are expecting more in the spring... But I thought maybe a little creative sweet talk to Santa might change his mind...

We'll see what is under the tree!

I've always loved that song, especially Eartha Kitt's version - but I like this one even better!

Although I think it would scan better if it was "slip a Saanen under the tree". :p

Okay, I really, really love this. Would it be okay if I reprint it in our goat club newsletter? I'll give you all the credit and even send you a copy if you pm your address.

You can all reprint it, sing it, change it, whatever. No credit needed. :baby04: I was just bored at work, thinking of goats and scheming a way to get Santa to grant me my wish... : )

Hope we all get goats for Christmas!!

Please explain this concept: too many goats? I've never heard of such a thing...

I know! Our herd numbers in the *single digits*!! Goodness knows we have many, many, MANY more to acquire before we can consider it "too many."

He spends too much time looking at the checkbook. :p

I love this! Got my Christmas CD's out, and been laughing so hard I cry! It's the reason I registered. Then I had to wait so long before I could post, so here's a bump! Hey - now it's thoroughly appropriate.
