Anyone know how to propagate Sago Palms? I have a good supply and they are entirely too expensive at the nursery.
    Thanks,
    Johna

You might check the Sunset Western Garden Book. I think it tells how to propogate sago palms as well as other culture guidelines.

Look at the stem bases, there are marble size seed there, at the top of the brown fuzzy base. Another way is to dig gently around the roots for a root knot, transplant the knot. I am putting in 2 wash tubs of seed this spring here.

Thnaks guys... am heading to check out the palm link.
One last question...when I find the marble sized seed at the stem base, do I keep the stem attached and plant the entire thing, or dig the seed out for planting?
    Thanks again,
    Johna
