Roses..........

    I bought some roses that have WAX on them !! What is this ?? Do I need to scrape it off ?? It is only on a few of the bushes I bought !!!

    howdy the wax is a protective coating to keep the cut ends from trimming closed so no parasite can get in...will also help retain moisture that would evaporate from these cuts...I leave the wax on...the heat will melt it off...i have had the rose limb heal under the wax and have not had a problem with leaving it on at all...have even taken an unscented candle and waxed them myself after trimming my bushes in the fall...but like just about everything in life folks have different ways of doing things so sure ya will hear to take it off also...but I have never had a problem with the wax staying on...dale anne
