I have an old apricot tree of unknown variety that has excellent fruit, and a limb on a winesap apple tree that bears huge yellow apples, crisp and juicy. I would like to graft from these and try to establish a few trees of each. Problem is I can't locate a source for small quantities of rootstock. Buying 10,000 is no problem, buying 10 seems impossible. Anyone know of a source?

www.vintagevirginiaapples.com sells apple rootstocks reasonable. They have a couple of pear rootstocks as well. I've purchased from them and was very pleased.

You might try Cummins Nursery in NY, they will sell 10 rootstock and have a plum rootstock that they use for apricot. I have used seedling apricot rootstock that I grew myself for apricots, too.

Oops! Just noticed that the plum variety for apricot rootstock isn't available this year.

Raintree sells them individually, but don't know if they have an apricot.

Here's a list of nurseries around the country that might help, but notice that some links don't work--try googling the nursery name if the link is no good.
