I received some green muscadine cuttings today and am wondering if they'll root if I just stick them in the ground and water. Do I really need rooting hormone? I don't have any and I don't want to lose these cuttings! :help:

Lay them parallel to the ground, cover with soil (keep some leaves exposed) and keep reasonably moist. They should sprout roots from the leaf nodes.

Thanks! I'll do that in the morning. Right now I have them stuck in a bucket with rich compost and water...mud I guess.
