I have a John Deere MC crawler tractor which apparently needs the steering clutch disks replaced. Has anyone done such repairs on the same or similar tractor and what do I need to look out for? How big of a job is it? What does the key pin on the track look like that I need to remove to remove the track? I have a service manual but it is rather sparse in information.

On my Cat there is a link that is notched. It has bolts holding the notched portions together. The bolts are through the pad. It is not hard to identify by looking from the side of the links. I know some machines had a pin that you can drive out but I am not familiar with those.
