REfreeze?????????????

question , my Grandfather used to work for a butcher and he told me that lots of times they would get meat in and it was frozen and they would thaw it and sell it then we buy it and freeze it again so... MY question is, I thawed a super nice turkey for turkey day and it didn't get cooked. Can I refreeze it and thaw it for Christmas????
