I'm looking for books or website/other resources for me to read - I would like to start market gardening in about 5 years, right now I don't have the time but I'm just testing out varieties and growing for our family. Are there any good market gardening 101 books around? I'm particularly interested in the business side of it, I have a degree in business but my impression is that the market for this sort of thing is really different...

I really liked Backyard Market Gardening. I think I found it used at a yard sale or something. Very humorus as well - maybe you're library will have it.

Backyard Market Gardening is a good book. My favorite on the subject is The New Organic Grower by Eliot Coleman.

I just finished reading "Starting and Running Your Own Small Farm Business" by Sarah Beth Aubrey. it's a new book and discusses marketing plans, targeting your customers, etc.

It's pretty good! It's not solely about marketing veggies, but it does include that, running a CSA, market stands, etc. Also talks about value-added products.

Worth a read, I got it out of our library.....

I have had subscriptions to Growing for Market for years. They used to offer older issues for sale. There are some very good ideas in the back issues. Check them out.
