I mostly go online using a MacBook laptop, operating system OS X 10.5.8 - browser: Firefox 16.0.2

I'm happy with it, for my usual purposes. But I'd like to add an RSS reader (hopefully a free download), and my Google search hits came up with confusing info.

Can you recommend a safe download that would fit the bill?

Thanks.

I looked at a few but OS X with Leopard is pretty old many I looked at wanted 10.7 or better.
So you really have to when you do find one that it will work with Leopard.
That is what my iMac came with back in early '09 was Leopard, and Snow Leopard had just came out so I upgraded immediately, and now they are way up OS 10.10 which is Yosemite.

I use Feedly (https://feedly.com/#welcome) on Firefox. Seems to work fine. It is fully online (not an installed client), and can use your Google login. You can also import any feed file (aka OPML file) into it.

If you decide to use feedly and are also looking for a iphone RSS reader, try 'Newsify'. It can work with your Feedly account, so you don't have to recreate all your feeds again on your iphone.
