We are going bowfishing for a few days soon and are thinking about getting a trolling motor for the old rowboat. How is the best way to recharge it in camp? How do I tell when it is charged?

Here is the worst way: I hook the inverter to the truck battery, hook the 110V charger to the inverter, and hook the trolling battery to the charger. I convinced a guy this was a brilliant method one time, just for fun.

Why not just put jumper cables on it and charge from your vehicles battery? A hydrometer will tell you the amount of charge, instructions are included in the package.
