Seems theres always a Question on Areas and Auction prices.

These are from a local Auction in Marlette MI, in the thumb region.

I may need to attend and see if I can manage some beef,pork,lamb.

MARKET REPORT FOR 9-1-14

choice beef steers - $1.10 - $1.45
fed holstein steers - $1.03 - $1.45
utility & commercial cows - $.80 - $1.15
canner & cutter cows - $.73 - $.80
best beef bulls - $1.20 - $1.32
deacons - $.50 - $2.50
started calves - $2.00 - $2.30
best 100 - 120 lb calves - $2.50 - $3.90
best lambs - $.90 - $1.90
best hogs - $.64 - $.66

In that area, you also have Croswell and Cass City Sales.
I think at most auctions, the hogs are to slaughter only, not back to your farm, but check first.
