My fil sent this to me today, I thought it was pretty interesting and quite appropriate for our country today.

Attribute it to Taylor Caldwell. She put those words in Cicero's mouth in her novel "A Pillar of Iron" published in 1965.

I checked snopes first, but apparently I didn't search enough! I still like it though.

I like it, too, & it does sound like Taylor Caldwell, tho I've never read that particular book. It wasn't on the regular snopes, but the snopes forum, which is more fun than the regular snopes.
