Can someone tell me why my Kits are jumping out of the nest box? They are just a Week and 2 days old and love to get out of the nest box. There is 11 of them, and everytime I go by I put 2 or 3 back in the nest box. I have never had this trouble before. Their eyes arn't even open yet.

    Thanks

Hunger and heat can cause kits to get out of the box at that age.
With a large litter, I might suspect that the mother *could* not be
    supplying enough milk????

Often times, I remove the nest box very early in hot weather and provide a resting board for the kits. I usually wait until the eyes are open though.

    Good luck with the babies.

    Thanks Linda,
I'm not going to worry about them anymore. I just went out to feed and water, and it must be the heat, because their little belly's are round and full. The Doe is laying there and they are not trying to nurse. Thanks again

Any kits that I have ever had in the many years of having them, they don't jump out until th last half of the 2nd and 3rd week.
Since you have so many, many it's because it's too crowded.

Sometimes they have a big suction on the Mama's teats when she jumps out of the box she actually pulls them out the box's opening with her. If she is a really good Mama and goes in and out of the box often that could be what is happening.

LOL, they just sound fiesty to me. I have had some do this before, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. :) I do believe it has a tendency to happen when they are hot, though, where as if it is cold they snuggle up in the box instead.
