We have had a rather succesful spring rabbit rental program this spring. We are renting rabbits out for $5.00 for two days with a 10 dollar deposit so if the rabbit is kept we made 15 dollars and if the rabbit is returned we give the ten back. We have had several photographers call us and we have one that is renting 12 rabbits for three days others only want one or two, we have even rented out a chick or two as well.

We even bartered some free photography for our farm brochures this way!!!!!

Great idea for the folks with a little initiative.

Never thought of that! What kind of rabbits do you raise?

I used to rent out entire litters for Easter Egg hunts, as well as to photographers and individuals. In addition, you might want to also consider some of the local large motels/hotels which feature an Easter brunch, as they like to have a litter of bunnies in the lobby. I would definitely provide warning signs and disclaimers, though... most people are unaware that "bunnies" can bite and scratch! You don't want to be held responsible in the event of something like that happening. Rabbit rentals at Easter time is a good substitute for the risky Easter Bunny sales.
