Hi all - butchered two young 5 lb rabbits today and the livers did not look right. Instead of ruby red, they were both tan in color. There are no visible white spots on them. All rabbits in the rabbitry appear healthy and are eating and drinking fine. Should I be worried or do livers sometimes vary in color?

Livers vary with their metabolic activity, yes. Sometimes it's pathologic, sometimes it is normal.

Not just rabbit specific but the gall bladder will tell you a lot about the previous health of an animal.
