I read I could put rub ben gay onto Corabelle's udder. Has any tried this (will it hurt the calf if it gets on her?). I might try peppermint oil if I can find it since that since it is the major ingredient in uddermint. I will get some uddermint, Willow, but I want to use something today.

I've used Vicks Vapo Rub with success. Also,if ya have some cayenne pepper and lard, massage the lard on first and apply the pepper on carefully not getting on the teats. Any heat inducing rub( alot of massaging) that brings the blood to the udder seems to work for me. Never have tried ben gay but I guess it would work. Tom

Hmm. Rubbing Ben Gay on teats? That's gotta hurt. I would recommend milking her out completely and thoroughly several times/day. Call a vet in a few days if things don't start to improve.
