So I acquired 2 older does one of which has had a few litters but not for a while she is a new Zealand white and is about 4 years old. What is your opinion on breeding her. I breed mostly for meat. The other doe is a California and is about 2 yrs old and has never been bred. They thought she was a buck..she is not..lol. Also opinions on trying to breed her.

might have some problems with both. You never know until you give it a try, though.

I wouldn't pay much for an older doe, but I'd sure as heck breed it to see if it works. Rabbits don't have estrus cycles where they 'waste' eggs like other species... they are induced ovulators so if they've only had a few litters they're just as fertile as they were at their last litter. HOWEVER, not breeding does makes them tend to be out of shape and harder to settle.

I'd give it a try, worst that happens is that it doesn't work IMO.
