I have been reading several of the discussions relative to the copying of information to other sites. These discussions caused me to go back and re-read through the rules for this site to make sure I understand them well.

I need some clarification on this element please, specifically the part in blue.

Could you please tell me - does this mean that if I create and share: a unique/new craft pattern (crochet, etc.), a recipe of my own or post a portion of a book I am writing for feedback (as examples)
that by posting this, HT then has the right to reproduce, modify, publish, edit, translate, distribute, perform, and display the communication alone or as part of other works in any form, media, or technology

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused about this.

    Thank you.

    Section 4. User Submissions.
Any communication which you post to the Site or transmit to homesteadingtoday.com or to the Site by e-mail, private message (PM), public post and/or other medium can be used by homesteadingtoday.com on a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive license with the right to reproduce, modify, publish, edit, translate, distribute, perform, and display the communication alone or as part of other works in any form, media, or technology whether now known or hereafter developed, and to sublicense such rights through multiple tiers of sublicenses. homesteadingtoday.com may use the information it obtains relating to you, including your IP address, name, mailing address, email address and use of the Site, for its internal business and security procedures.

Yes, and be sure to note, it states they own your PRIVATE messages (PMs) too to do with as they wish.

"Private" must mean something else to the owners of this forum than it does to the rest of the world.

Thank you Tiempo, even though the true answer is not the 'right' answer morally.
Don't know how I missed that.

    Wow. Even private messages? Wow.

Anybody have other forums they frequent that they like?

I just joined Willow's forum, but it's not allowed to be named here or in PMs.

I am not sure what you mean by "Willow's forum". Is it similar to what this forum purports to be? And if so, could you offer a hint as to where it is so that I may find it?

I sent you a PM in which I did not, to my knowledge, break any HT rules.

And I responded in a fashion which precludes HT from knowing the content of subsequent correspondence.

Willow's forum is tripledubya.hearth&gardens.com but you have to spell the & as "and"

Carbon media lists their board of directors and their major sponsors on their main website. Thank you Carbon for making these contacts easy to find! We'll see what THEY have to say. Interesting to note they are looking for a content director!

I'll be in the area of their headquarters next week...I'm thinking about stopping by to express my displeasure in person. They probably won't let me in the building, but worth a try.

Oh, that's right. Sorry 'bout that. Can't name any other forums. Well, guess I'll just have to google.

I wanna know where the fearless administration team is today through all of this openness?
Are they all hiding, hoping this will all blow over so they won't have to step up to the plate and offer honest answers?
