Question about grain mill

We aquired a grain mill today, I need to know if anyone knows about it.

It's a Wilson Bros. # 0, made in Easton, Pa

I just know it's old. It's cast iron. All I could find on google was it is for grinding graham flour and corn mill.

Any info would be appreciated. Only gave 25.00 for it.

The base where you mount it to a table has been cut off, but DH said he could fix a way to mount it.

It sounds like it only does a coarse grind, but that can be useful for many things. If you want a finer grind, put the meal through a second time. Other than that, I don't know anything about your mill! I do hope your DH is able to fix the mount so you can use it.

The man he bought it from said it was adjustable from corse to fine. I don't know but it does have two things side be side on front with wing nuts on it.
the best thing for you to do would be to get out some grains and start grinding. you may be pleasently surprised to see what you get.
also, try pop corn, beans, and anything else you fancy. the better experienced you are now, the better.

or after grinding, put it in a blender a cup at a time to get it finer, we have to do that now with wheat.
That is a good buy. I keep trying to find one like that for wheat, one day I will!
I am absolutely green with envy.

We are prepping for what we believe will be bad economic times. That includes getting non-electric items where ever possible. Manual mills today usually have aluminum parts (cheaper to manufacture than cast iron) but I sure don't want my food anywhere near aluminum if it's humanly possible........
