Has anyone tried the Pyramidal Strawberry Beds? Do they work well? What are the pros and cons? Also, what type of strawberry grows best in the sandy soil of central Wisconsin? Thanks for any info!!
My grandma ALWAYS had those circular metal strawberry beds, and over the years Ive found they just cant hardly be beat for space, and ease of gathering the strawberries. And very easy to toss a net over the whole thing to prevent the birds from getting the strawberriesHillbilly Don said:I also want to start a pyramidal strawberry garden,I hope somebody answers soon as I too would like to know. I had one of those from Guerneys a LONG time ago. Hated it. It was too hard to get to the center to pick berries, and unless you watered it VERY often, the center dried out too fast. It is too deep, all the water goes too far down.Paquebot said:runners. Since there aren't many heavy bearers in that category, Ozark Beauty is the one that is almost always advised. Martin
