    HI smart garden people!

I built a temporary hoophouse over my tomatoes and peppers (our last frost date is supposed to be April 15th, but we've had two since then) and I'm having trouble finding something to hold the plastic on. I looked at the Territorial catalog and decided that $10 worth of plants probably wasn't worth $20 of specially made clips. I figure someone else who is as tight as me has come up with something great, so what is it?? :)

    Thanks very much!

Try hot glue. I built one a few years back and if it's just for a cold frame, hot glue will work until you need it again next year. When you go to set it up again next year, the old glue should peel right off of the PVC and you can start again.

If your pvc is small enough, you might try spring type clothes pins.

Large binder clips from an office supply store.

I have used twist ties that come free with most garbage bags.
I just twist two together-end to end-and poke them through the plastic
over the pvc pipe. Or those cheap plastic pull-through ties.

I KNEW you could help! I'll see what I have along some of those lines and let you know what I come up with. Right now I have the plastic under the cinder blocks that I am holding it up with, and good 'ol duct tape in the middle, but that will only work until time to water. Thanks!
