For those of you feeding commercial feed, What are you feeding and the cost?

We are feeding a Hog Grower Mash, a very fine feed- like corn meal almost.
Its $16.50 for 40kgs.

Pig Starter 25kg- $17.50

Hog Grower Pellets 25kg I think its around $13.50- maybe $14

I'm feeding a mix of 1700 pounds of cracked corn, 300 pounds of soybean meal and a gallon of corn oil to stop the meal from blowing away. It costs me $240 per ton, bagged.

When hog grower went over $450 a ton, (It was $250 a ton a year before) we switched to feeding barley screenings. It comes in a pellet form in approximately 1 ton totes for $250 a ton, plus $50 per bag of minerals per ton. We switched about about 3 months ago and have been very happy with the results. We have been told the meat tasted great, too. We haven't butchered any for ourselves since switching. I paid $14 per 50 lb. bag of Purina Hog Starter I got for the 2 new piglets.

I really don't use it anymore, but i was feeding a sow and pig builder...it's a start to finish, just an all purpose 16% it is $12.50/50lb bag, they did give me a deal on my last ton, $400.00(10.00 a bag)and that is the cheapest in town and the whole metro area.
