What would be a good price for a starter herd of Boers. Say 3-4 girls with a good buck at weanling age? Have a friend with Boers to supply the buck so he is unrelated to my girls which are fullblood and percentages. This has been a good year for does in the Boer herd and can't keep any of them because they are from my buck. These all could be registered but are not. The Buck would be.

In middle Tennessee $100.00-$150.00 for does, $150.00-$200 for bucks.

Boers are going pretty high around here.

If the are 100% and you get them registered I think you should get at leat $1,000 for a starter herd.

You can find average weanling does around here for 200 and up that are registared older does for 300-400
Intack bucks are harder to find and start at about 500
The demand around is is getting high for meat
they have a annual meat goat sale that they cancelled due to the fact that everyone is hanging on to their stock
recently their were unregi does that were bred in the paper for 100

boer are also crazy expensive this year in eastern NC too. I paid 75.00 last year for a 98% doe,6 months old, the same man this year wants 175.00 per doe(98%) at 3 months of age. I will have to pass. ...I understand making a living,etc.. but thats to much difference. I guess its like everything else, all in how bad you want something.

Prices here average 175-300 for good percentage stock and 300 on up for full bloods.
