$40 for a breeding pair, fair price?
I would say so ,, I have happily paid $35 for a breeding age buck 7 months old - w pedigree ,, and the same for a breeding age doe she was 8 months old ,, (the breeder even bred her for me!) ..
so $40 for a pair is a good price I would say ..
I'd say so too. Young unpedigreed NZW does go for $10 around here and you don't know if they'll be good for breeding or not (too young).
Depends. Are they just run of the mill, whatever happened to come out or were they selected from good parents for traits you want? If they are just regular old unpedigreed NZW's, then they aren't worth but about $10 each. Good rabbits from a good rabbitry with decent lines behind them are worth $20 easily.
I see ads for free NZW that have outgrown their welcome as pets. As far as I'm concerned, these rank up there with rabbits you'd get from a backyard breeder who has a few litters from highly inbred stock and will offer them for $40 a pair before killing what he needs.
