If it is a canner they are OK. People now look down on using a pressure cooker to can with. We have a2small old Presto canners that hold 4 pints, we use them a lot. So handy. They have gauges, just like a pressure canner. We bring it to heat slow and remove from wood cook stove slow. Since they are small they heat up fast and lose heat fast, removing slow keeps steam longer, like a big canner....James
