Hi folks, My three little potbelly piglets, 2 females and 1 male, should be ready to go in a couple of weeks. I'll be selling them for $50, in case anybody's interested.

My daughter (18) wants a pet pig. We know very little about pigs, except that they are intelligent.
I have seen some pot belly pigs that were HUGE. How do I know I'm getting something that won't end up bigger than we are? We always do quite a bit of research before we get anything new, so I am starting here.

    Thanks

I'd start by looking at the parents. My boar and sow are getting toward two years old, and they're about the size of a Golden Retriever, but with very short legs and more substance. I'd put them around 100 pounds each. I have a 6-month-old barrow out of them that I've been TRYING to put size on, since we'll be eating him, and he's still the size of a Cocker Spaniel. I do limit their food intake, of course, but neither is anywhere near skinny, just small.
